Rules and Regulation
Trans Nusantara 4000 is point to point race, the route is pre-defined that riders must follow without any assistance/supports/pacers for solo riders, with exception only if the riders register in pairs. Each person in pairs register herself/himself and choose pairs category.

Time Limits :
Finisher - 17 days (18 July 2023) at Sape
Survivor - 21 days (22 July 2023)
at Sape

Qualification : Any Ride >1000km in the past with Official Result Link

Mandatory Gears :
- Travel Insurance Covering 1-23 July 2023
- Cycle Helmets
- 2 Lights with 2 independent power source
- Bike Bell
- Red blinking light and Reflector in the back

Basic of the rules design :

Main Safety Rules :
  1. Rider MUST ride with GPS tracker active
  2. Travel insurance, cycle helmets, lights and equipment in the required equipment list are mandatory, we will be checking
  3. The ferry services are used on the 6 crossing between island, secure your bike and pay extra caution to lock all the time while rest/sleep in the ferry

Basic Rules :
  1. Ride from the designated start line to the designated finish via the route provided and the 5 Control Point listed in this manual and specified on the Brevet Card
  2. No 3rd party support, private lodgings or resupply. All food, drink and equipment must be carried with you or acquired at commercially available services
  3. Riders must not solicited any form of private resupply from locals on the race route, any such interaction must be freely offered and unplanned
  4. No drafting (other than pairs with their partners)
  5. All forward travel overland must be human powered
  6. All riders must maintain evidence of their ride
  7. ‘Leave no trace’ : all riders are expected to follow the leave no trace principles.
  8. 24 hours of inactivity without report to the Race Director will be deemed a scratch.
  9. Riders must know and observe all local traffic laws
  10. Ride in the spirit of self-reliance and equal opportunity
Notes :
This rules is used basically to validate a Finisher :
  • They should be begin and finish under the same classification as solo or pair
  • Remain self-sufficient for entire duration of the ride
  • Validate with evidence of checking-in at all control point without missing any.

If there are any open to interpretation, that will be made by the Race Director and will be final. Where there is evidence of a rider in breach of the rules, they may be excluded from the results, this is at the race director’s discretion. Rule breaches that endanger rider safety will be taken very seriously.

 

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  1. You understand the unique nature and requirements of competing in an ultra-long distance bike race. You will be riding in the dark of early morning and all day through hilly terrain and have undertaken the necessary training to compete in such a race.
  2. You will be responsible for yourself and have the ability to deal with any problems that may be encountered during the race.
  3. You are able to deal with, on your own without assistance, deteriorating weather conditions (low temperatures, strong winds, and rain) and other troubles expected when traveling across hilly terrain.
  4. You are able to deal with extreme fatigue, internal organ and digestive problems, muscle pain, mild physical injuries and psychological problems on your own and having examine fit for ultra bike race by medical institution.
  5. You fully understand that you are responsible for overcoming the above conditions 1 to 4 on your own and that it is not the responsibility of the race organization.
  6. You are fully aware that when participating in an outdoor activity such as this race, your safety depends on your own skills and abilities.
  7. Video/television footage, photos, articles, race results, etc. may be used and/or shown in newspapers, television, magazines, internet, pamphlets, etc.
  8. You understand and agree that these rights belong to the race organization and may be used for these purposes.
